“Poson” is a festival of great historical and religious significance celebrated island-wide by Buddhists. Alms giving, pandals, pilgrims, processions and religious observances are done by the Buddhists to celebrate the “Poson festival. The procession is a lesson of the preschool syllabus to teach the cultural values through practical learning. The kids’ procession consisted of many events such as flower bicycles, flag, parasol and flower bearers, a king, upcountry dancers, eastern band, kavadi and other traditional dances. It was a beautiful procession that can be taken an experience in a real procession for the children.
