Our ultimate objective is to improve the level of education of children. There are thousands of children in Sri Lanka, who are below the poverty line. Amidst them, there are many who have left either one or none of their parents making them more vulnerable. Other than their economic instability, and parentless nature, insecure housing conditions are collectively leading the children to leave with less educational output which is below their potential.

ABOUT US
By 2022, the Friends Lanka Child Foundation (FLCF) has been rendering its service for around 10 years in Sri Lanka. The FLCF emerged from the mission of Friends Kinderhilfe International e.V. (FKI) which established in Sri Lanka in 2004. Since then, it had been carrying out number of projects for the betterment of under-privileged Tsunami affected children and their families. In 2012, the local team of FKI Sri Lanka. has made a bold decision to become an independent local NGO named Friends Lanka Child Foundation (FLCF), with the intention of providing better access to the education and better living conditions in creating a brighter future for the under-privileged children and to their families. In achieving the respective objectives, FLCF undergoing with number of projects and programs in Sri Lanka with years of hand on experience.
FLCF believes that the long years of services of workforce will be very useful to the organization to have as the local team with good experience to build strong relationships with the local authorities. Therefore surely this will be the best team committed to build up this independent local organization to serve the poor children in Sri Lanka in a very sustainable way.
Our Vision & Mission
VISION To break the vicious circle of poverty by empowering underprivileged children’s lives through education, giving them equal and fair opportunities and a perspective of a brighter future to represent one day a just, free, peaceful and prosperous society. MISSION To establishing free education centres, preschools, child guidance centres, Vocational training centres, and provide education, scholarship, Leadership, Counselling, skills & intellectual development programmes to empower the children of the disadvantaged regions of the country.
Our Focus
The focus of the organization is to give socially deprived children a better future through access to free education. FLCF aims to support children from a difficult social economic and/or an abusive family background as well as orphans and abandoned children through group education, e.g. at children homes as well as individual educational programs and scholarships. This help is not restricted to a certain area in Sri Lanka.
Our Child Protection Policy
We maintain a strong Child Protection policy within our organization. The Staff has to perform duties according to the child protection policy laid by the Organization. We do not tolerate employee discrimination or harassment on ethnicity, gender, race, caste, colour, nationality and marital status in our organization.
