The concept of ‘Special Needs Children’ is a leap of friendship for children in special needs. This program works with diverse group of differently abled children who are from age 4 to 18. FLCF operates two Child Guidance Centers for this program by providing children primary education, preschool education, therapy practices, vocational training, one to one Service and computer literacy knowledge, yoga, dancing, music practices and counselling & empowering programs for parents (especially for mothers who have special needs children) to overcome the challenges they are facing in day-to-day life and to develop household economy. Identified disabilities of children in these two centers are amputation, hyperactive, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, autism, myopathy, mental retardation, deaf, blind, hydrosphere’s and slow learning.

PEARL Child Guidance Center – Beruwala

The “PEARL” Child Guidance Center (Hereafter call CGC) for Special Needs Children is a project which implemented by FLCF in 2017 where in Beruwala, Kalutara district – Western Province. This project commenced with the donation of SWISS FOUNDATION – Germany.

PEARL Child Guidance Center – Ambalangoda

This is the newly opened project for Special Need Children where in Ambalangoda, Galle District – Southern Province. This center is a project commenced in 2021 with the donation of Schöck Foundation.

These two centers carry out its service under FLCF Coordinators with the supervision of management. In addition to that, qualified and experienced teachers, counselors, and therapists who are in special needs education sector support this program.
